Background[edit | edit source]

Ibelin’s father (Lord Stefan Redmoore) was a nobleman from the island nation of Kul Tiras. His mother (Mary Sanders) was a waitress also from Kul Tiras, working at a tavern in the city of Boralus. Lord Redmoore met Mary after an important business meeting. They fell in love and decided to get married. Mary got pregnant shortly after. The Redmoore family had always been involved in a fierce conflict with the Sarin family, the two groups had fought each other for generations and it was commonly known that wherever a Redmoore and a Sarin met there would be trouble. Eventually the conflict got out of hand and Stefan decided it would be best if they left the island and the Sarin’s behind. Mary and Stefan ventured across the sea to Stormwind City and eventually settled down in the town of Lakeshire in Redridge where Ibelin was born 3 years before the first war. The war forced the little family to seek refuge in the city of Stormwind. When Stormwind fell they fled to the shores of Lordaeron. The Redmoore’s remained in the city of Lordaeron for several years, until Ibelin reached the age of ten.

The Sarin’s had managed to track the family down and hired an assassin to get rid of them. Ibelin’s father managed to fend off the killer for a while, giving Ibelin and his mother a few minutes to escape. Sadly the assassin managed to catch up with them. Ibelin’s mother told him to run to safety, hoping the guards would protect him. The assassin killed Ibelin’s mother and quickly moved on towards Ibelin. Luckily Ibelin managed to make it out of the alley and into the streets where the guards were patrolling. The assassin had no choice than to abandon the mission and disappeared into the shadows. He or she has not been seen since.

Ibelin grew up alone on the streets of Lordaeron. He spent the remaining years of his childhood as a pickpocket and a thief. Remarkably he was never caught and learned to stay hidden within the dark shadows of the city. When he reached the age of sixteen he was discovered by Nathaniel Reed, a notorious rogue commonly known as “The Shadow Knife”. Reed accidentally witnessed Ibelin stealing an apple from a fruit cart and was somewhat impressed by the fact that he didn’t get caught. Reed immediately recruited the boy and made sure he received training within the fields of combat, the use of poisons and stealth. Ibelin stayed with Reed and his band of rogues for several years but after taking part in several raids and robberies he realized that what he was doing was wrong. He did no longer wish to be a part of this group of criminals and at the age of twenty-one he decided to walk a different path.

Breaking out of the gang was not an easy task, once a member always a member was Reed’s policy. Any rogue who decided to leave was quickly labeled as a traitor and could be punished by death. In spite of this Ibelin fled the city and made his way south towards the rebuilt city of Stormwind.

One day as he passed a dark alleyway he was assaulted and dragged into the shadows. SI:7 had been watching the young rogue for quite some time and after doing a background check they managed to link him to Reed’s gang who recently had moved their operations to Stormwind as well. The gang was growing out of control and SI:7 realized it was time to take them down. They managed to convince Ibelin to infiltrate the gang and for about a year he functioned as a spy under SI:7s management.

The crime syndicate eventually crumbled and several key members were arrested and some of them died trying to escape. Unfortunately SI:7 never managed to get their hands on Nathaniel Reed himself as he had seen it coming, and he was on to Ibelin from the very start. Reed was known to have an eye for details and could easily tell a traitor from a loyal member. Ibelin’s criminal record was erased in exchange for his valuable services.

Ibelin served the SI:7 for several years but at the age of twenty-eight he decided to leave. That same year he joined Talah Adore Alshar, a guild headed by the night-elven huntress Teni Silvertree. He made several friends there and stayed there for about a year.

After leaving Talah Adore Alshar, Ibelin joined another guild known as The Silver Hand under the leadership of a paladin known as Doddz Edenlight. Ibelin stayed with this group for a while until it eventually fell apart. After this he was on his own again for quite some time until he heard of another guild named Starlight. He had heard many good things about this group and decided to send their leader, a man known as Nomine, a letter. After two interviews he was accepted and became a member. For the first time in years Ibelin finally felt he belonged somewhere and he still remains a proud member of Starlight.
