Ilaana Moonwatcher

Short Description

Ilaana Moonwatcher is a very old woman. She looks also looks like it and has very light blue hair. She has a few light blue markings on her face. A few scars can be seen on her face because of blades. She looks as if she used to be well trained, but is now skinny and boney. Ilaana is also quite tall, hovering at around 210 cm. You can sense a great deal of Wisdom but also a lot of sadness when talking to her..if she answers you that is.

Background

Ilaana didn't really know where she came from. All she knows is that her mother was unable to care for her and that she was raised by the Priestesses of Elune in Suramar. When she reached maturity, she became, as many other Night Elven women, a Priestess of Elune. After the Sundering, she moved to Astranaar and became a Priestess but also a Sentinel. She also met her mate Thalyn in Astranaar who she lived with for 9000 years.

About a thousand years ago however, Ilaana and Thalyn were called back to service again due to the fact the War of the Shifting Sands had begun. The couple moved to Southern Kalimdor into the province of Silithius where they served in their respective roles, Thalyn as a Druid mending nature and Ilaana as a Priestess, tending the wounded. After the war was over, Thalyn and Ilaana felt they had a duty to peform to their brethren and decided to stay with a small community to safeguard the old ruins of Ahn'Qiraij. It was in this harsh land that Ilaana eventually got pregnant. Sadly, Thalyn did not witness the birth of his child since he perished in an attack on the village in which he and Ilaana lived. Ilaana, despite all the hardships, eventually gave birth to a daughter which she named Celegil.

Ilaana carefully raised Celegil to become a Priestess like her but was never able to see this work fulfilled. One day, their village was attacked by the Silith and Ilaana was taken away by them and place in a cocoon, ready to be eaten. Luckily, a number of Sentinels ventured into the Silith lairs and managed to safe Ilaana from being turned into a tasty snack. However, when Ilaana returned to the village, there was no trace of Celegil and she assumed her child had perished. Ilaana, in grief, decided to carry on doing what she was doing and stayed in Silithius as a Priestess till about three years ago when the Silithius were pushed back. She then returned home to Astranaar.

Ilaana was shocked to find Celegil was still alive but was also frowning on the lifestyle of her child. Ilaana and Celegil had numerous arguments and had a lot of differences. Recently, Celegil and Ilaana sorted out their differences. Celegil saved Ilaana's life while she accidentally ran into her mother while looking for clues to her father's past. Since Celegil saved Ilaana's life, they have become friendly again to each other and restored their daughter/mother relation.

With the Orcs ever encroaching upon Astranaar, Ilaana takes up arms for the last time. She hopes to serve Elune and the Sentinels in the last few decades of her life.

Physical Traits and Personal Traits

Ilaana is very tall, even for a Night Elf. Her eyes glow faintly as if all the power from them have been sapped out by the trails of life and her long slumber in the dessert. Her eyebrows are well kept but her hair on the other hand looks horribly untidy and scruffy. It has a light blue colour comparable to the water of the Faralfan river. There are many scars on her face, ranging from cuts to slashes.

Ilaana also sounds very old and tired. She speaks very calm and slow, as if she is about to fall asleep.

Occupation

Ilaana used to be a Priestess but the trials in the Qiraj dessert truly sapped all her powers. She can only cast minor healing spells at the moment. Ilaana also received Sentinel training millennia ago as part of her training in the Sisterhood.

Strenghts

Unstoppable: Ilaana's hardships have made her numb of any kind of Dread. If she goes to accomplish a certain task, she will complete that task or die trying. Anyone in her way will step a side or face her sword.

Imposing: Ilaana is very tall, even for a Night Elf. This makes her very imposing when she is wearing her armour and sword. When she is particularly angry, you really don't want to mess with her.

Weaknesses

Numb: Ilaana has seen so many horrible things during her life, that almost nothing amazes her any more. She feels a bit to overzealous at times and this can bring her in danger when she underestimates her foes.

Unsocial: Ilaana thinks talking is for the weak and action is for the strong. This makes her a bit rude at times and many of the persons surrounding her in life thinks she is nothing more then a plain crazy old Woman at times.
