Zelotes 'Jim' Swann

Physical Traits

Zelotes stands taller than your average human and is more lean in terms of muscle mass for a warrior. He has dark skin and long jet black hair which is pulled into a low ponytail. Several braids are entwined here along with some beads. Some parts are too short to tie up and fall into his face.

His dark coloured eyes are bright and sometimes portray a glean to them or a shimmer. Three slash marks traverse his well-structured face, crossing diagonally from above both eyebrows to the left side of his face, stopping on his defined cheek-bones. The most unusual feature he has are his ears which seem to be unnaturally pointy for a human.

The lesser unusual feature he has are his teeth. Though he rarely smiles, he is prone to outbursts of anger and yelling is not uncommon. During such an outburst one may recognise his teeth as being more pointed, his canines being rather sharp.

Background

Zelotes was born as Eithelonnen (Ay-thell-oh-nehn) Silverwind, the bastard son of a Human father and a High Elf mother. Little is known of his early years, but it seems it was uneventful and most likely pleasant.

At around the time of his 12th year, during a late afternoon lesson, his mother was viciously attacked and slain before him by a Human rogue. Rather than sparing a young Eithelonnen from life without his mother, the assailant decided he had a much darker purpose for the child. So it was that Eithelonnen spent two traumatic years with the criminal, serving as a source of amusement, slave and an object for sexual release.

Six months before his fifteenth birthday Eithelonnen, by now mute due to trauma, was happened upon by a patrol of Scarlet Crusaders. More specifically, he was wrenched from the grasp of his captor by a Scarlet Arcanist bearing the name Swann. Swann took the young Eithelonnen under his wing where he took delight in teaching him about basic intellectual subjects and also teaching him some very basic defense techniques. He doted on the boy, but was never able to get him to speak. As Eithelonnen advanced in his combat skills, Swann arranged for him to have a mentor. Someone who could really teach him how to fight.

Eithelonnen proved to be a quick learner, with a never ending supply of rage and ambition. One day after another two years had passed, during a friendly sparring session, he was given the opportunity to pit his sword against a Scarlet Soldier. Much to everyone's shock he managed to get the upper hand and promptly destroyed his opposition. A Scarlet Champion, had taken an interest in the sparring and had noticed Eithelonnen's potential. "What do you call that boy?" he asked Swann. Swann turned to look at Eithelonnen, who was still mute, and announced with a broad smile: "Zelotes...his name is Zelotes!"

Shortly afterwards he joined the ranks of the Scarlet Crusade, regaining his lost voice in the process. Here he advanced quickly through the ranks, excelling past aging men at an incredible speed, much to the disgust of his fellow competitors. He was also taught advanced torture techniques and enjoyed the lessons. As a final "exam" he was handed the criminal who had killed his mother and told he could do with the man as he saw fit. Zelotes made sure the man suffered for every year of pain inflicted and then some. The man eventually lost his life to Zelotes' sadistic means.

Zelotes lived contently among his Scarlet comrades for years, enjoying the perks awarded to him because of his rank. He enjoyed the power he held and the respect he had gained. Leader of his own group of soldiers, he never once disappointed or failed a task given to him. It seemed the Light fought with him though he was no paladin. The Light seemed to leap from his sword with every strike. But one day, the Light went out.

In Northrend, shortly before the Lich King's fall, they were charged with dealing with the Frostwrym nuisance. Unfortunately, one such wrym was brought down, falling from the sky onto the slope of the mountain causing an avalanche. Zelotes watched in horror as his own soldiers were lost beneath the snow, buried alive. Determined to save them, he ordered the surviving soldiers to start digging where they were able to save two out of forty five men and women. At last an order was brought from higher up informing Zelotes he was to stop the attempt because the soldiers lives were worthless and they were all expendable. Including him.

Zelotes was enraged by such a statement, as he valued the lives of every Scarlet, seeing them as his family. Back at headquarters he begain to question the motives and actions of his superiors. He was warned several times to hold his tongue but found he could not. He was no longer blinded. It was then decided that he had commited an act of treason and was sentenced to be executed at sunrise the next day. Zelotes was shocked by his sentence, outraged that he would die for simply questioning, but he accepted his fate nonetheless.

Shortly before dawn, Zelotes was sprung from his jail cell by an old and frail arcanist. It was Swann. Accompanied by a female priest they fled from Northrend, desserting from the Scarlet Crusade. Eventually they arrived back in the Plaguelands, unsure of what to do with themselves, they knew no different. They hid in the woods, and did nothing more than survive and kill the odd undead that roamed too far from the safety of Andorhal.

During a day of scouting, Zelotes came upon a charred Scarlet Outpost and decided to investigate further but was disturbed by a rather unusual druid. Zelotes was lost for words, having never laid eyes on a Worgen. Instincts kicked in and he attacked but was subdued by Argent Crusaders who had come looking for their missing druid.

Zelotes was kept as a prisoner for awhile and was eventually given the option of joining the Argent's cause or execution. He chose life in the hope that one day he would see Swann and the priest again. But it has not yet come to pass.

Family Background

There are no records.

Criminal Record

Has no actual criminal record but such activities during his time in the Scarlet Crusade are questionable.

Personal Notes

Zelotes has a rather grumpy attitude and is easy to irritate and wind up. Prone to outbursts of violence, this often gets him into trouble with his peers.

He also seems to contradict himself on a lot of viewpoints. This often confuses people as he is hard to work out.

His attitude towards an individual and their viewpoints depends on how they treat him. The majority of people won't get a second chance, whereas some have the potential to slip past his defenses.

Also fancies Miern Le Fay but tries to hide it as he has more important things to worry about and doesn't need the distraction of a woman's affections.

Current Status

Alive, infected with the Worgen Curse.
